Singer, songwriter, and guitarist, Ashley Taylor grew up in Bakersfield, California. Growing up she was musically influenced by the likes of Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash, Bon Jovi, and Buck Owens. Thanks to her grandmother's CD collection. Ashley's love of country music grew to become her passion in life. She received her first guitar at the age of seventeen and has been making music ever since.
It wasn't until a friendship though, with hit songwriter Clay Mills (Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It by Darius Rucker), resulted in Ashley making the life changing decision to move to Nashville, Tennessee. Ashley is now making waves and touring the country promoting her debut single Bakersfield. Which is also the title track of her soon to be released EP. Ashley solely wrote this song to describe her life growing up on the famous streets of Bakersfield.
When Ashley is not in the studio or out touring the country, she is in the writing rooms on music row. Ashley has had numerous songs cut by several independent artists including Matt Wynn from American Idol, Justin Love, Jenna Lea and more. She was named one to watch by the Nashville Songwriters Association International. Her song More Than Wood was a finalist in the national Write about Jesus 2016 songwriters competition. In November of 2017, Ashley was honored at the Bakersfield Country Music Awards for her contribution to the Bakersfield Sound.
